Series tied 1-1 and Steve Snatch got dunked on by Kobe...

Sure it may have been a offensive foul, but they say that only the MVP can get away with that call : )

Nice "MVP" reference, especially since the word is that Nash got the MVP again this year.

    "May" have been?

When I looked at the replay, it looked like Kobe had already made his move before Nash came over.

You know how the rule is that you have to give the player in the air (or turning around) a place to land or it would be a foul. The attacking player must have enough room to stop or avoid the defender when the defender takes position. Well, I believe that's what happened. If Nash had rotated to an ordinary player instead of someone with Kobe's athletic quickness, he would have been in position to take a charge.

After everything Thomas got away with in game one, it is nice to see Kharma come back to the light side, hehe.

    Matchup to watch

Phoenix's Shawn Marion vs. L.A. Lakers' Lamar Odom: Marion is giving up size, but he's been doing that all season. Odom is just as quick, if not quicker, and a better ball handler, but it's not like "Matrix" is chopped liver.

Odom hit 9-for-12 while Marion went 5-for-15 in Game 2, but those are just the numbers. The psychological carnage was evident, because while Odom flourished, Marion wilted. If this abuse continues, the player who helped alleviate the absence of Amare Stoudemire will become a detriment, and the Lakers will become the favorite in this series.

Nash made a veiled reference Marion must take to heart during Wednesday's post game press conference:

"You want your leaders to get your guys going. There is a lot on a lot of our guys’ plates and there is a lot of responsibilities for everyone. We would like to think that there is something that can get our guys going because this is the playoffs and we all have been training and preparing throughout the season for the playoffs. For us to be a little bit tentative and for us to be indecisive in the playoffs is frustrating."

Hehe. That quote from Nash reminds me of Manning's "protection" speech after the Colts-Steelers game during last year's playoffs.

      Good stuff.

Sorry about that , what I meant to say was that I hope Kharma doesn't come back to rape Kobe....

Never jumped off ... (LOL). But I am spoiled and last year was a long year. Nice to see them playing as a team again. Phil is doing a GREAT coaching job.

Alot of people did....yesterday was the first time that I began to see Laker flags on cars again...Phil is doing a great job but he won't get the credit deserved because of sour grapes...my 5th favorite part of yesterday is in the after game interview when Kobe had commented that it was the most fun shot he'd ever made...so a reporter asked if it was more fun than winning championships and Kobe's expression and his saying "What???!!" was classic and priceless....last year was a long year but it was a long time between "Show Time" and the early part of this decade when they began to be champions again.....(remember those shots Kobe took against Utah?).....and I often tell people I made it through the "Elden Campbell" years so it makes it easier to deal with what happened last year....

            Mon, May 1, 2006 - 3:55 PM
I was in Staples to witness this classic Laker comeback win...

Lamar had another big game, Devon's 2 consecutive 3 pointers was huge, as well as Luke forcing the jump ball. Kobe was simply spectacular but the rest of the team kept us in the game (Kobe's fouls forced him to sit practically for the entire 1st half).

I then pulled out my crystal ball and told my friend not too worry about Smush's missed shots because he was going to make up for it in the end...and what do you know? He did with a 3 pointer and a steal to send us to OT.

Staples was in a frenzy that Sunday.

I read the LA Times today and even TJ Simers has some sort of nice things to say...which in and of itself was amazing and even though I don't like Bill Plaschke his article about Kobe "arriving"made some good points...

I have the great (mis)fortune of being chained to the bandwagon via inquisition- style heavy iron anklets.

I kept telling my dad that the Lakers could win the series. He said, "Suns in six." Before the game, I told him.. "Well, good luck then, because if they win this game the Suns could only win if it went seven.

I thought they had lost it twice, but amazing things happen.

This is just great for the young guys, you can just see guys like Parker and Walton gaining in confidence and maturing right before our eyes. The future looks bright.

              Wouldn't it be lovely?

              Mon, May 1, 2006 - 6:37 PM
If the Lakers move on and Miami doesn't.

              (nothing against Riley)
I just love the way they fell apart in Chicago. That hockey check on Heinrich was something else too.

                Speaking of the Heat

Gary Payton is an awful teammate....people talk about Kobe but I think Payton is one of the worst guys you can have when it comes to chemistry on a team...

I'm hoping that we don't have to go back to that damned desert....with home court advantage and Raja Bell suspended, we can close out the series.

The desert isn't so damned but I don't want to see them come back either. I wonder who will guard Kobe tonight. If its Barbosa Kobe will have no problem in the low post.

                        The horror! The horror!!

I won't be watching game 7. I almost died. It was torture. Too much stress.

I just can't handle it. It's like watching your kid stand up on stage in front of a national audience at a spelling bee and blow it horribly, replacing the requested word with some obscure obscenity.

                        only worse

Why the heck wouldn't Parker shoot? You'd think he would have a little confidence after the shot he made on Sunday! Why did they suddenly decide to take jump shots instead of going to the paint? Why couldn't they adjust to Phoenix's pick-and-roll? How about fouling Thomas so that he can't get the rebound? Two points at the free throw line won't tie you!! WTF!?!

I can't not watch....I'm a die hard...it's frustrating and exciting and the only thing that is truly "reality tv" in that it can't be edited whatever happens happens....they are still my team...

I'm like Jerry West, I get TOO stressed to watch sometimes, because I care too much. I'm that way with a lot of things.

Lamar, Kwame, Smush were killing me all game long...

I think Lamar had 4 points with about 4 minutes left in 3rd quarter....4 @#*!...ing points!? Kwame was missing turnaround shots from 5 feet and couldn't catch the ball that's passed to him (all year). Smush couldn't score if his life depended on it and is now psychologically screwed up because Steve Snatch made him his bitch.

Another thing that killed me is the fact we were down 30 points! I would of been OK losing by 5 points but going out like that was simply embarrassing. My TV was off by 7 minutes left in the 4th, I coudn't bear watching anymore.

On the bright side the Lakers have a bright future.
                                  Item #1 on the list:
                                  Get a point guard!
I know Phil likes big guards but Parker stinks!!!!

I don't know how you can do that.

I couldn't live like that, it would be like living in the same house with Nazis. I'd have to move.
                                  ....
I'm glad I didn't watch the game. It likely saved me a hospital trip. I'm proud of what the Lakers did this year, there is plenty of room for growth but they have some good young talent. Remember how Ben Rothelisberger [Pittsburgh quarterback] handled his first postseason effort [total flop]. Now, he is a champion.

I'm not going to say that the Lakers will win the championship next year, but they are headed in the right direction.
